Exhibition

From the 14/11 to the 6/12 Josabet Werkmäster will be exhibiting her show "My world and your world" at Galleri 21 where part of the exhibition has been given an interactive touch by 1scale1s Tony Olsson. So if you are in Malmö take the chance to drop by Galleri 21 at Tringlen.

Öredev

On Monday the 3 of November to the Friday 6 of November 1scale1 will be presenting the “40 ways two twitter” at the Öredev conference in Malmö.

“Øredev is the premier conference in Europe focused on the software development process.

Nearly 1000 programmers, developers, engineers, educators, testers and managers gather to share their knowledge and experience.

This year, we welcome web developers with a brand new track! This means bringing the Øredev experience to more people and welcoming new perspectives.”

On Wednesday evening 1scale1 will also preform a informal workshop where the participants get a quick tutorial on physical computing and how to make their own physical twitter input.

On Friday morning at 9.15 David Cuartielles, 1scale1 co founder, will give a talk about how Building technology for leisure can be become a profitable business as well as the story about Arduino.

So if you want to have a chat with us or just attend what looks like to be a nice conference get you tickets at www.oredev.org

Open softwear book

Open Softwear is a book about fashion and technology. More precisely it is a book about Arduino boards, conductive fabric, resistive thread, soft buttons, LEDs, and some other things. We started researching three years ago thanks to the support of K3, Malmö University School of Arts and Communication.

os_synth

Authors T. Olsson, D. Gaetano, J. Odhner, and S. Wiklund got the chance to come together to write down their conclusions in the form of an illustrated book aiming at students and professionals trying to enter the field of physical computing from the softwear perspective.

David synth

While doing some research for a collaboration with Sudio total and Unsworn we manged to turn David Sjunnesson into a skin keyboard. Enjoy the video where Tony Olsson performance one of his masterpieces on the one of a kind David synth.

B2B

For the people that did not make it to the businesses to button conference here is some eye candy of our slightly bigger than average business card. If you cant tell by the pictures it makes a annoying oscillating sound with help of a light sensor.

Interactive Textile

If you are located in Malm; during March take the chance to have a look at T.Olssons collaboration with the textile artist Josabet Werkmaster where they have made interactive textile print sing opera.

Recycling for the impaired

Bellink is one of the new prototypes developed at the 1scale1 studio signed T. Olsson. Bellink is a visual helping tool for the hearing impaired that have a hard time of determining if their mobilephones are ringing. If you leave a mobilephone next to the Bellink it will give a enhanced visual feedback when a incoming call is on its way and even work if the mobile is muted.

And in the tradition of recycling, the Bellink is made from a classic Swedish “Televerket” phone.

PWM to the people

The dusk is one of 1scale1 newest creations by David Sjunnesson with assistance from Tony Olsson and its the progression of the dawn breakout board for the TLC5940 chip by David Sjunnesson. The dawn has the possibility to pwm (pulse width modulation) 16 different ports over serial communication from example an arduino microcontroller or similar. (This means in ordinary language that you can for example dim 16 LEDs up and down individually) The max rating of the chip is 17V and 120mA / port. This is adjustable by an resistor down to about 10 mA.

1scale1 going soft

A quick and dirty, home made breadboard of the soft kind made with stripes of conductive foam, cloth and some thread.

Moving Planks

The Moving planks project is a collaboration between the 1scale1 and the ITU University of Copenhagen based upon Anna Vallgarda research on composite material. The goal was to visualise sound into wood. The piece consists of ten planks that are individually programmed to react on sound and do so by bending when spoken to and retract if the surroundings are quiet.
